Happy Thanksgiving!

Quilters' Quarters and Wooden Toy and Gift will be closed for this holiday. We will be open for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. On both days, we will offer a discount  of 15% on purchases.

Hot cocoa, tea and light refreshments will be served. A door prize will be offered to each customer who shops with us on either of these two days. And each customer's name will also be entered into a Holiday Shopper's grand prize ~ it's a secret, but has a value of $50.00 or more ~ winner's name will be drawn at 7 pm on Saturday evening. Your name will be added to the "Holiday Shoppers' Drawing" each time you visit and purchase during these two days. Shoppers who visited today (Wednesday November25th) have already been entered in the drawing.

We look forward to seeing you at our shops this weekend, and throughout the month of December. There will be a second Shoppers' Drawing during that month as well ... each time you come and make a purchase during December we will add a ticket with your name on it.

We will be open Wednesdays through Saturdays, 11 - 7, in December. We will be closed on December 24th and 25th.

We will re-open for the last week of December, but close early on New Year's Eve, December 31.

Exciting Arrivals at Quilters' Quarters!

November has been very kind to Quilters' Quarters here in the northeast corner of Massachusetts. Weather has consistently stayed above 60 degrees every day and most evenings. The leaves are falling and are dry enough to rake easily, but until we do move them, they provide a beautiful ground cover (especially the leaves of our 'most beautiful tree,' the red Japanese Maple out front.)

Inside the shop, we've been receiving shipments of wonderful fabrics from Moda, Quilting Treasures, Elizabeth Studios; we've had new notions arriving, including 60 degree triangles for beautiful holiday table runners, rotary cutters and replacement blades and ergonomically-comfortable seam rippers (because yes, we are human and do need to "Frog" now and then ~ rip it, rip it, rip it...)

And most exciting, we're receiving three free Moda Sampler Shuffle block patterns every week from the folks at Moda Fabric ~ with their permission to share these patterns with customers each week, here at the blog in digital form, and also at our shop already printed out for you! I've been working on them day by day, and so I have completed sample blocks for the first six blocks, shown here.

For those who haven't followed us on Facebook, you will want to visit our new blog page here that shares the blocks week by week with our followers. You can download them and print them out, or come by the shop and pick them up... If you are at a distance and would like to receive printed copies in the mail, just send me a self-addressed, stamped, letter size envelope and I'll be happy to mail them to you. Our mail address is 59 North Street, Georgetown, MA 01833.  Mention that you've been here at the blog in you note, so that I know you are seeing all that we have to offer.

Veteran's Day is this week; please be sure to thank a veteran  for your freedom and safety here as an American. We are working on our third and fourth quilts and plan to present one soon to  one of our local heroes. You can visit our Quilts of Valor page here at the blog to see more of what we've done in our small group. And you might want to visit Rick's newest Facebook page featuring his Plaques Honoring American Heroes. His work is beautiful and quite affordable!

Our Friday and Saturday workshops will be focusing on the different skills and strategies helpful to completing the Moda Sampler Shuffle blocks; don't miss out! We're going to address blocks one, two and three this week, and four five and six next week. Each block takes very little fabric, most often cut in pieces smaller than three inches square. We have plenty of scraps to share here in the shop!
